Week 17 Egregious Errors:
Brother Nature,
for trading away Corey Dillon in favor of Kevin Faulk. While playing a meaningless game in terms of playoff positioning, New England tends to not sit players during the final week, as Coach Belichick stated early in the week. Going into the game, Dillon was only 81 yards away from 1,600 yards rushing on the season. He was also just 25 yards behind Curtis Martin, who finished the season leading the league in rushing. Kevin Faulk, on the other hand, did not play in week 16 and was listed as questionable for the game against San Francisco. The Diesel stated before the games started that this should be considered an egregious error if Brother Nature insisted on making the trade. In the end, Dillon played and ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, finishing second in the AFC in rushing, behind Martin. When Dillon was not in, New England gave the ball to Patrick Pass. Kevin Faulk did not play for the second straight week.

Throcksmorton, for not making any trades, despite pulling within range of 2nd place. As a result of making no moves, Throcksmorton carried the same 9 players from the Indianapolis vs. San Diego dream game that netted so many points in week 16. With both teams playing meaningless games in week 17, many of those players did not play or played only one series. Notable from that group are Peyton Manning (4 points), Edgerrin James (minus 4 points), Drew Brees (0 points), LaDainian Tomlinson (0 points), Antonio Gates (0 points), and Brandon Stokley (0 points). That is six players with a grand total of zero points. Green Bay was locked into their playoff position, but their coach had stated that the starters would play in order to stay sharp. Even though he did not play the whole game, Brett Favre ended up with 308 points. Other reasonable options were Eli Manning (261 points), Vinny Testaverde (252 points) and Tiki Barber (358 points). Team Throck's total for the week was 847 points, and 460 of that came from one player (Julius Jones). Anytime an owner finishes a week with a total below 1,000 points, regardless of how injured the players are or what misinformation was relied on, is considered egregious. Because this was week 17 and it is difficult to predict who will play, this error goes down as .75 of an error.

Week 16 Egregious Error:
Brother Nature, for not choosing a Last Man Standing team for the second time this season.

Week 14 Egregious Error:
The Diesel, for dropping Drew Bennett in favor of Mushin Muhammad. The pickup of Muhammad was a good one, but the player to drop should have been Bennett's teammate, Derrick Mason. In week 13, Bennett had an outstanding 434 point outing, while Mason had a respectable, but disappointing 170. The Diesel traded away Bennett because he mysteriously attributed Deuce McAllister's 3 point outing to Bennett. The end result is that in week 14 Mason brought in 110 points, while Bennett had a career day with a season high for receivers at 670 points. The Diesel admitted that his methods were sloppy and had he spent even a small amount of time doing proper research he would not have made the move.

Week 12 Egregious Error:
Throcksmorton, for dropping Edgerrin James in favor of Eddie George. While it is nice that Throck managed to keep running backs that had first names for last names, Mr. James had a typical day, scoring 248 smallworld points, while Mr. George also had a typical day, scoring only 16 smallworld points. It is understood that there was an effort to represent Dallas the required number of times, but it was way too early to panic and pull the string on this one, for if Throck had kept James, he still would only have to have a Dallas player once in the next four weeks. The egregiousness of the error could have been avoided had Throck selected Dallas running back Julius Jones, who amassed an impressive 420 smallworld points.

Week 8 Egregious Error:
Brother Nature, for so badly mismanaging bye weeks that he took two zeroes on his own team and two zeroes on BMTG #2. On his own team, Brother Nature had six St. Louis players going into the bye week. After the four trade limit was reached, he took zeroes for the kicker and the defense. Same case for BMTG #2, where he had six New Orleans players and ended up leaving both the kicker and the defense at zero.

Week 6 Egregious Errors:
Throcksmorton
, 1 for not selecting a Last Man Standing team for the second time of the season, and 1 for carrying Manning, James, and Harrison through their bye week for a grand total of 0 points, compared to a potential of 845 points had he taken the best options in their place (Brett Favre 347, Richie Anderson 210, and Terry Glenn 288).

Brother Nature, 1/2 for not selecting a Last Man Standing team (first offense), and 1/2 for six weeks of tight end mismanagement. Brother Nature's total points from the tight end position through the first six weeks of the season is 84, for an average of 14 points per week. Had Brother Nature chosen the best possible tight end each week, he could have had 792 total points, for an average of 132 points per week. While it is granted that there is a low probability of choosing the best player each and every week, the point differential shows that there are plenty of points out there for the taking. These errors are rated at only 1/2 each because the LMS is a first offense, and because at least some effort has been made to trade for tight ends.
