Entry fee is $10.
Distribution is as follows: 1st place gets $25, 2nd place gets $10, BMTG gets
$5.
First game of the season is Thursday, September 9, 2004.
Draft:
Draft was held on Tuesday, August 10, 2004. There
shall be a total of six owners, four from BMTG membership and two group owners
(instead of dummy owners). Draft begins with each BMTG member drafting their
lifetime franchise that was selected in the 2003 draft. This draft pick is
guaranteed to that owner each and every season. The draft order from that
point is determined randomly. The group owners are included in the draft order
and choose from the top 5 available teams based on last season's final standings.
After all BMTG members have four teams, the final pick is assigned at random
from the pool of remaining teams. The group owners then randomly choose their
final pick. The two teams left undrafted are considered off limits to all
owners. Each owner will make their rosters by taking players from their set
of five teams.
Owners not able to attend the draft can submit their list of desired teams, to be revealed one team at a time during the draft. Owners not physically at the draft will automatically draft last. Owners that do not submit a list of teams to draft will be allowed to choose from the undrafted set of teams.

To Be Determined
The BMTG group rosters are to be managed in an effort to do well. The best group team manager gets his picture posted on the Big Machine and shall be considered the "Smartest Dummy." If one of the group owned teams wins, the winnings shall go to the BMTG Treasury.
Roster Restrictions:
Rosters must be set by midnight the night before the first game of the week.
For example, if the first game is on Thursday, all rosters must by set by
Wednesday night. Each team must be represented by a player (including Team
Defense) at least 16 times by the end of the season. This would make an average
of one player from a team on the owner's roster per week
There shall be a maximum of four roster moves per week. One move is considered to be the releasing of one player and the signing of a replacement player. These moves are non-cumulative, so if you only make one move, the extra move does not carry over to the next week. Each owner shall e-mail their roster moves to the other owners.
Changes to roster moves will only be allowed for a certain period of time, determined as such: if the Tokyo stock market goes up, you will have time to change. For example, if the Tokyo market goes up 3.5%, then the owner would have 3.5 hours after the submission of the original move to make a change. If the market goes down, then no changes can be made. It will not be known until the next day if the market went up or down, so owners should be prepared for changes to be rejected. If the changes happen on a weekend or holiday when the markets are closed then there is no grace period.
Injury Exceptions:
A maximum of one injury exception may be granted per week. To qualify for
an injury exception, the player in question must be listed as “doubtful”
or worse (“questionable” does not qualify). All inury exceptions
should refer to the player's official injury status on NFL.com
or CBS Sportsline. If
qualified, that player can be moved from the roster without counting toward
the four move weekly maximum.
Rules Changes Beginning with Week #11
Number of weekly moves shall be reduced to three.
Number of injury exceptions shall increase to two.
To qualify for an injury exception, the player in question must be listed as "questionable" or worse. Due to gross misuse by NFL teams, the BMTG determined that "questionable" status should be allowed.
One conditional trade per week shall be allowed. If a player is listed as questionable, there is the option of designating that player as a conditional trade. The player in question is conditionally on the roster for the week. If he does not play, the backup is taken in his place. The backup must be from the same team. In order to do this, a regular trade must remain unused. For example, you have made two regular trades and have one remaining. Your favorite running back, He Hate Me, is listed as questionable. Instead of trading him, you elect to name him as your conditional trade, meaning that if he does not play, you will get the points of his backup, Obafemi Ayanbadejo. If He Hate Me plays even one down in the game, you are stuck with He Hate Me.
Trades:
There shall be no trading of franchises allowed, as well as no trading
of players between team owners.
Rules Violations:
Owners violating the rules shall be subject to sanctions. Before sanctions
are determined, the accused will have a chance to defend his transgression,
with the exception of non-BMTG members, who will not have a chance to defend
their position. Sanctions will be recommended by the BMTG Senior Council and
must be approved by a majority of owners. Non-BMTG members will be given additional
sanctions for questioning the Senior Council.
Sanctions may be appealed by filing a 1st Level Appeal for a $3.00 filing fee. All 1st Level Appeals will be denied within 30 days. 2nd Level Appeals (final level) can be filed for an additional $3.00 after a 12 month cooling off period. All appeals must be filed in the proper format and the filing fees are non-refundable.
Egregious Errors Tally:
The Egregious Error Tally was established after Week #3 to cover
inactive and grossly mismanaged teams. Points are already tracked throughout
the season and at the end acknowledgement is given to those who performed
well and jeers are given to the poorest manager. In addition, gross mismanagement
and extended inactivity of BMTG #1, BMTG #2, or one's own team shall be dealt
with by establishing the Egregious Errors Tally. Egregious Errors include:
Sanctions may result based on the number of egregious errors, as follows:

Last Man Standing rules:
Each week pick one team that will win their game. Teams can only be picked once throughout the season. The group owned teams will make their picks based on point spreads. BMTG #1 will choose the team that is favored by the largest spread, while BMTG #2 will choose the second largest. When the team with the largest spread would match a team already picked in a previous week, the next largest shall be chosen. There are two winners in the competition. One is whoever lasts the longest before making a wrong prediction (the true "Last Man Standing"). The second winner is the best win loss record at the end of the season. No money is involved in this competition – play is for bragging rights only.
