Distribution is as follows: 1st place gets $30, 2nd place gets $15, BMTG gets
$5.
First game of the season is Thursday, September 8, 2005.
Draft:
Draft was held on Thursday, August 18, 2005.
There shall be a total of six owners, five from BMTG membership and one group
owner (instead of dummy owner). Draft begins with each BMTG member drafting
their lifetime franchise that was selected in the 2003 draft. This draft pick
is guaranteed to that owner each and every season. Next set of picks are the
keeper picks from the 2004 season. Each of the four owners from 2004 can retain
one additional team. The keeper team can not be retained two years in a row,
although that team can be drafted in later rounds. For example, for the 2005
season Throcksmorton chose to keep Indianapolis from his 2004 teams. He shall
be restricted from keeping Indianapolis as his keeper pick in 2006. If Indianapolis
is still available during the draft, he would be allowed to draft them.
After the keeper picks, one compensation pick will be given to new owners. The draft order from that point is determined randomly. The group owned team will take five of the final seven teams and will not make selections during the draft. Any additional compensation picks for new owners come before the group owned team is assigned teams. The two teams left undrafted are considered off limits to all owners. Each owner will make their rosters by taking players from their set of five teams.
Owners not able to attend the draft can submit their list of desired teams, to be revealed one team at a time during the draft. Owners not physically at the draft will automatically draft last, unless they are available via conference call. Owners that do not submit a list of teams to draft will be allowed to choose from the undrafted set of teams.

Decathlon Style Scoring:
Scoring for the entire season and playoffs will be decathlon style. There
will be seven categories, with the main competition (weeks 1-15) counting
as double.
Categories:
1. Total SWP for weeks 1-15. This is the main part of the competition and
is weighted most heavily.
2. Weeks 16 and 17 Pick ‘Em Game.
3. Post-season.
4. Last Man Standing – who lasts the longest to begin the season
5. Last Man Standing – overall win-loss record for entire season
6. Win – Loss record of drafted teams (includes postseason)
Each of the 6 categories would have points awarded based on finish.
1st place = 5 points
2nd place = 3 points
3rd place = 2 points
4th place = 1 point
5th place = 0 points
Points are doubled for the first category (weeks 1-15 SWP)
Group Owner Management:
Tin Man was given ownership of the team. Any owner that finishes below Tin
Man will be subject to sanctions.
Roster Restrictions and Management:
Rosters must be set by 11:59 PM the night before the first game of the week.
For example, if the first game is on Thursday, all rosters must by set by
Wednesday night. Each team must be represented by a player (including Team
Defense) at least 20 times by the end of the season.
To compensate for the lies that are made on the injury reports each owner will have a ranked roster, with no limitation on number of moves made. Every owner will rank every position to a set limit. For example at QB, The DieSeL could do the following:
1 - Pennington
2 - Green
3 - Carr
4 - Boller
If Pennington doesn't play for some reason (say game day flu that nobody could foresee) then it defaults to the next in line. If #3 is also out then it goes to #4. This will greatly reduce the chances of getting a DNP and allows for the elimination trades, inlcuding injury trades. (Players who have a bye week but ranked high would still get a DNP)
Players will get SmallWorld points based on their ranking. At quarterback the top player will get 110% of their points, second ranked player gets 100%, and lower ranked players will get less than 100%.
Number of rankings per position will be double the number of roster spots. For example, since the roster has two quarterbacks, four players are ranked. Since there are three running back roster spots, owners will rank six runningbacks. Rankings and percentages are as follows:

Defense

The reasoning for lower percentage after the number 2 quarterback is that the number 3 and later players would not have even been playing if both 1 and 2 played. So, since you are getting bailed out a bit when either 1 or 2 does not play, you would not get full points for the replacement.
Trades:
There shall be no trading of franchises allowed, as well as no trading
of players between team owners.
Rules Violations:
Owners violating the rules shall be subject to sanctions. Before sanctions
are determined, the accused will have a chance to defend his transgression,
with the exception of non-BMTG members, who will not have a chance to defend
their position. Sanctions will be recommended by the BMTG Senior Council and
must be approved by a majority of owners. Non-BMTG members will be given additional
sanctions for questioning the Senior Council.
Sanctions may be appealed by filing a 1st Level Appeal for a $3.00 filing fee. All 1st Level Appeals will be denied within 30 days. 2nd Level Appeals (final level) can be filed for an additional $3.00 after a 12 month cooling off period. All appeals must be filed in the proper format and the filing fees are non-refundable.
Egregious Errors Tally:
The Egregious Error Tally will be re-established if the trend of
inactive and grossly mismanaged teams continues. Points are already tracked
throughout the season and at the end acknowledgement is given to those who
performed well and jeers are given to the poorest manager. In addition, gross
mismanagement and extended inactivity of the group owned team, or one's own
team shall be dealt with by using the Egregious Errors Tally. Egregious Errors

Penalties begin with Week #4 (the week that the Tally was officially re-established). Egregious Errors through Week #3 shall be noted, but will not count in the tally.
SmallWorld Points:
Each player on the roster during the first 15 weeks of the season will earn
points based on the SmallWorld scoring system. White Russian will track the
rosters and stats and post the standings on usesoap.com. Points are as follows:

Last Man Standing rules:
Each week pick one team that will win their game. Teams can only
be picked once throughout the season. The group owned team will make its pick
based on point spreads, choosing the team that is favored by the largest spread.
When the team with the largest spread would match a team already picked in
a previous week, the next largest shall be chosen. There are two winners in
the competition. One is whoever lasts the longest before making a wrong prediction
(the true "Last Man Standing"). The second winner is the best win
loss record at the end of the season.
Season Duration:
The main season will end after week 15. For the final two weeks, teams that
are in the playoffs, but can't better their playoff position, will be resting
stars and non-playoff teams will be getting rookie players some playing time.
It becomes more of a guessing game as to who will score the most points for
your team as opposed to making logical selections.
Last Man Standing will continue for full 17 weeks.
Weeks 16 and 17 will be a Pick ‘Em game. Pick who will win each game and assign points to each one. The game you are most confident in the outcome you assign 16 points (32 teams = 16 games) and the most difficult game to predict gets 1 point (126 points max if you get every game correct).
At the playoffs, the game continues but changes with the owners retaining some of their teams and some teams will be drafted. The fewest number of teams that an owner has in the playoffs will determine how many teams each owner retains. If, for example, every owner has at least two teams in the playoffs, then each owner will be allowed to keep two teams. The rest go in a draft (reverse order of week 1-15 final standings). Owners will get points for games their team wins via a scoring system that is to be determined. Permanent teams should stay with their owner, as well as the retained team in the draft. This is to be determined as well.
